Absence marks the debut of Sheen, a sophisticated electroacoustic project conceived by Lorenzo Marranini and developed in deep collaboration with Romina Daniele. The project is built upon the "indifferentiation" of musical genres, utilizing an experimental key to bridge the gap between traditional structures and avant-garde soundscapes.

The collaboration merges Marranini’s extensive musical experience in creating deep, contrasting electronic environments with Daniele’s specialized research into avant-garde vocal techniques and textual intervention.

Conceptual and Philosophical Foundation

The work is situated within the "fundamental area of existential-philosophic conception," as evidenced by the title Absence (No I). The album's structure is strictly conceptual; each composition serves as a numbered movement representing different stages of this philosophical inquiry.

The conceptual anchor of the work is derived from Romina Daniele’s poem, Assenza (o soglia del mio dolore) [Absence (or threshold of my pain)]. This literary influence informs the inaugural track, Part I (Intro), which has been released as the lead single titled Absence I.
